Repacrete® Premium SBR is a Styrene butadiene based single component emulsion used to improve flexibility, bonding strength and abrasion resistance of cementitious render, screed, patch mixes, etc. It is resistant to hydrolysis, enables usage in internal or external areas of continuous or sporadic water contact.
The product is used in bonding applications whether old or new concrete, adhesion plaster, masonry, stone/tile work, underlaying screed to use with resin floor finishes etc. It can also be employed in waterproofing in places like effluent and water tanks, bathrooms, toilets, pits, balconies, roof terraces, etc. It is also used in cementitous Repair – localized patches, toppings etc.
Surface Preparation
For better adhesion, the substrate must be sound, clean and free from oils, plasters, grease, surface water, paint, corrosion residues or any surface contaminants. Mechanical abrasion must be carried out with needle gun or grit blasting that helps to roughen the smooth area and remove dust and loose particles. Remove scale from corroded reinforce bars up to bear metal and corrosion deposits in surrounding area for better mechanical key.
Priming
Surface should be wetted with clean water; any excess water on surface should drain off. A slurry primer should be prepared in ratio 1:1:3 (Repacrete® Premium SBR: Water: Cement). The cement should be poured eventually to the pre-mixed liquid for better consistency. The primer should be frequently mixed during use.
If the surface becomes dry during application, it must be removed and the surface should be reprimed.
Bonding primers are applied by brush, subsequent screed or repair in mix is applied when primer is still in wet or green condition i.e wet on wet condition.

Health and Safety
Contact with the skin and eyes, and dust inhalation should be avoided. Must not be swallowed or inhaled. Wear suitable protective gear, gloves, eye or face protection and dust mask should be worn. In case of contact with skin, it should be washed with clean and clear water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with water and seek medical advice immediately.

For better adhesion, the substrate must be sound, clean and free from oils, plasters, grease, surface water, paint, corrosion residue or any surface contaminants. Mechanical abrasion can be carried out with needle gun or grit blasting that helps to roughen the smooth area and to remove dust and loose particles. Remove scale from corroded reinforced bars up to bear metal and corrosion deposits in surrounding area for better mechanical key. Surface should be free from any excess water. Expose the corroded reinforced steel around its circumference. Further, clean the corrosion residue and scrub it to a bright condition using sand blasting, grit or emery cloth.

CloBond EPX is formulated by solvent-free epoxy resins that contain high performing chemicals, fillers and pigments. It is supplied as a two component product which consists of pre-measured base and hardener, the mixture of these two chemicals produces an even mixture of light green brushable paste which can be readily mixed and applied at site. This provides visual evidence to ensure that adequate mixing is attained and the required results are obtained.
CloBond EPX can be employed for developing the bonding between the wet cement materials to the existing cementitious surfaces (dry/old)., mostly concrete. It can also be used on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. The product is best suited for slab extentions, retaining walls, culverts, pavements, bridges, roads and floor toppings. It can be used for both interior and exterior applications. CloBond EPX can also be used as part of a repair system for wet or damp substrates.
The product CloBond EPX is formulated to have a larger overlay time. The adhesive is best suited in regions which requires more time for additional steel reinforcement and accurate form work and also when temperatures are high. CloBond EPX can be employed even when the temperature is as low as 10ºC. The product shall comply to ASTM C881.
Surface Preparation
The application surface should be free of any dirt, dust, oil, loose cement, grease, paint, algae and any foreign particles. Remove cement laitance by etching and wire brushing. For a sound and clean surface, chip off the existing substrate to a sound base. Use an organic degreaser or detergent to remove oil or grease contamination. Wash the surface clearly with water and has to be dried before CloBond EPX application.
Mixing
Make sure CloBond EPX is mixed thoroughly. Stir the base and hardener components separately prior to avoid settlement. Pour the hardener component into a base container and mix the two to blend thoroughly until a uniform mixture is achieved. Slow speed paddle stirrer shall be used to stir in slow rotation mode. The sides of mixing bin shall be also be scrapped properly to avoid clogging of materials.
Coating
CloBond EPX is to be applied evenly to the old concrete using a brush or roller. In spite of Clobond EPX having larger drying time, we still insist to apply just before placing the fresh concrete. Further if the coating is dried then the coated surface acts as a smooth plastic surface which shall result in debonding of the two materials instead of creating adhesion. If in case the coating is dried due to any circumstances, it is advised to remove the coating completely and reapply. So it is advised always to keep all the materials ready before application.
Packaging
CloBond EPX : 1L and 4L Container
Coverage
Approx. 4.0 – 4.5 m2/L depending upon the surface porosity.
Precaution
If the temperature is below 100o C or beyond 500o C, do not use CloBond EPX.
Cleaning
Wash the equipment and tools immediately after use with water. Hardened material should be removed manually.
Fire
CloBond EPX is inflammable. Avoid exposure to ignition sources and prohibit smoking.
Shelf Life
The shelf life of CloBond EPX is 12 months provided it is kept unopened in dry condition below 350C.

Surface Preparation
The identified surface for the treatment must be prepared to take the product application as instructed for an effective performance of the product. The surface being adhered to must be clean, firm and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds, release agents and other barrier materials, as well as being strong enough to support the weight of the tiles being fixed. Ensure surfaces are dry before tiling, with no residue or permanent damp.
Mixing
CloTile Fix is added to clean water in a large clean container. The contents shall be stirred vigorously with a paddle mixer. The mix shall be even and consistent to achieve a lump free easily workable mortar of a thick creamy paste. Mix the paste for at least 2 minutes without breaks, and allow the mixture to settle for 5 minutes and mix again for 2 minutes. A 20kg bag of CloTile Fix requires approximately 6 litres of water. The consistency of the adhesive can be slightly adjusted to suit site conditions and size, weight and type of tiles to be fixed. The pot life of the mixed mortar is approximately 2 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
Fixing Procedure
As a general guide use a minimum 6 x 6 x 6mm notch trowel for walls and minimum 10 x 10 x 10mm notch trowel for floor tiling. CloTile Fix can be applied at a bed thickness shall vary in between 3mm and 10mm. After applying this paste consistently with the notch trowel, the fixing tiles must be pressed firmly into the freshly prepared mortar bed to ensure non-hallow and good contact with the paste. The ribbed profile side of the tile shall be buttered to ensure complete coverage throughout the tile. Do not spot fix by tapping with a mallet instead remove the tile completely and re-fix with the required amount of mortar.
Any surplus adhesive must be removed from the surface of the tile and joints, before the adhesive sets. CloTile Fix has an open time of 15 minutes and an adjustment time of 20 minutes. However, the site conditions are important factors to be considered during the fixing of tiles. Also excess mortar shall also be removed within the setting time. All tools should be washed with clean water immediately after use.
